OVERVIEW OF LIFE MINISTRY KENYA
Our nation if going through many fundamental changes including the following:
- Education system-moral values and a “crisis” among the youth
- Erosion of family and public values, and parenting challenges
- Personal and corporate integrity are fast diminishing
- HIV/AIDS and its impact on the health of our nation, hence a burden on overtaxed urban dwellers
- A more liberal print and electronic media
- An increasingly fast rate of urbanization, hence moving away from traditional family set-up
- Market systems permeating the social fabric, leading to depersonalized thinking, social injustices, profit making as sole objective, rise in poverty, lack of moral values
- A Church whose attendance is said to be declining and whose impact and influence has been reducing. A weak missions mindset, in spite of a ready field; Somalia leaders, Sudan leaders, in the country
- Emergence of a robust stock market, emerging philanthropists, and movements that nurture sector-specific visions
- An outspoken youth that recognizes the power of the youth to influence nation affairs
What is the remedy for this needy situation?
We clearly need to experience transformation undergirded by a spiritual revival. However, as in the case of Jerusalem, we need leaders of integrity who fear God to spearhead societal transformation (Neh. 7:2)
LIFE Ministry Kenya has been serving the Church in Kenya since 1973 to raise this kind of leaders among:
- Students in High Schools and Universities/Colleges-future leaders
- Professionals and Executives-current leaders in the workplace/society
- Church and Community-dealing with challenges confronting society e.g. HIV/AIDS Family etc
- Missions to and among the least reached in our nations and beyond including tools for ministry such as the Jesus Film, the Four Spiritual Laws etc
We currently have about 80 field staff (16 of whom are serving as long-term missionaries internationally) and other 25 serving in supportive roles. Our strategies can be summarized as WIN (Evangelism), BUILD (Discipleship), TRAIN (Equipping), SEND (Missions and raising leaders).
Why should you consider serving in our team?
- We are an interdenominational organization which allows us to work with all Churches across the border
- We have a countrywide presence
- We enjoy goodwill from the major Churches in the country
- WE are reaching and equipping leaders who are (and will in the future) influence the course of our nation
- Our nation is open spiritually with abundant media and strategic influence in the region (e.g. mediating in the Somali, Sudan peace initiatives)
- We have opportunities for our partners to be involved in some of the ministries
- You will get a ‘prayer letter’ every six weeks from us as well as other updates from our office. This way, you will know on a regular basis how God is using your investments to bring about an eternal difference in people’s lives.
